FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
What exactly is Kindred Hills?
Kindred Hills is a fun and scary Halloween event. It's similar to a haunted house, but instead you're outside, walking through the woods.
Where is Kindred Hills?
The address is 8421 Ball Rd, Frederick, MD. We are located off of Rt. 355, between Frederick and Urbana. The easiest way to get there is to turn off of 355 onto Ball Rd. Turn right after you pass Reels Mill Rd. Our driveway is steep at first and narrow, so beware of cars that may be heading out.
What is the parking situation?
The parking lots are located off the paved driveway in grassy areas.
How scary is it? Like for kids?
We're going for very. We wouldn't recommend it for kids under 8. Even some older kids may find it to be too intense, but you will have to make that call - you know your kids best!
Try the new Trick or Treat Trail for your younger kids, it's held in the afternoon with characters handing out treats along the trail.
What about refunds?
When you buy your tickets, make sure that it is a day that you are certain you can come. Refunds will be done if we choose to close due to weather. We will make every effort to stay open, but if conditions become too dangerous for the hayride, people walking the trail, or the parking lots, we will have to close. Check the website for updates, final decision to close will be made by 5 pm. An email will be sent to ticket holders for that day informing them of the closure and refund.
Do you rent private fire pits?
We do! Contact us for availability and pricing.
The ticketing site only has PayPal as an option. Can I use a credit card?
Yes. Just click the PayPal link and there will also be a choice to pay with a credit card.
Anything else I need to know?
Yes! The hayride will be bumpy. The trail may be bumpy, have small sticks or rocks, and it's pretty dark! Not to mention the things out there designed to scare you. We also use theatrical effects like strobe lights and fog machines.
